Cohesity, a data management firm has introduced a software-as-a-service (SaaS) data isolation and recovery solution called Fortknox. The company develops software and allows IT professionals to backup, manage and gain insights from their data across multiple systems.
FortKnox is a cutting-edge data isolation technology that can significantly reduce the impact of cyberattacks like ransomware on organizations. In comparison to magnetic-tape and self-managed data vaults, it is intended to significantly simplify operations and reduce expenses while adding an additional layer of off-site protection. The SaaS solution aids businesses in adhering to legal and regulatory standards as well as recovering service level agreement (SLA) requirements.
The cloud era's current 3-2-1 option, powered by FortKnox, successfully strikes a balance between an organization's security and agility goals. It's a cloud-based system that makes it easy for users to connect, save, and retrieve data.
Through physical segregation, network isolation, and administrative isolation, vaulted data is kept safe and out of the hands of malicious parties. In order to achieve business continuity goals, this clean data can be recovered from the Cohesity-managed cloud vault and transferred back to the original source location or to other targets, such as the public cloud.
Carl Holzhauer , Infrastructure Supervisor at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick LLP commented that Cohesity’s new invention which doesn’t let any source tamper with, remove or modify immutable backups, is a great way to protect systems and backups against cybercriminals in the event of an attack.
Oliver Pouvesle , the CTO at BRGM has stated that with the increasing number of cyber attacks that are taking place, and the amount of destruction they cause, Cohesity’s FortKnox will add that extra layer of protection required to protect crucial data.
The Chief Information Security Officer, Brian Spanswick , has stated that for most businesses today, cyber resilience is of the topmost priority. Hence one way to aid customers is to provide off-site data isolation. This will enable them to combat sophisticated attacks and accelerate recovery and will make the job of compliance teams easier.
According to Adrain De Luc, the Director of Solution Architecture, Global Partner Strategic Development at AWS, organizations are prioritizing data security. The main reason for doing so is the increased sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks. This makes the process of data protection more difficult and critical. With the help of Cohesity FortKnox customers can easily scale, secure and access their AWS. This is thanks to Cohesity’s next-generation data management software that will enable customers to protect their data from ransomware attacks and cybersecurity threats.
Cohesity has now added SaaS to its existing data management as a service range of products and services that are powered by Amazon Web Services with the launch of FortKnox (AWS).
