iOS 16 includes the ability to trigger actions without touching the device

iOS 16: An Introduction:

The iOS mobile operating system's version history began in 2007, with the release of iPhone OS 1 for the first iPhone. It has been the operating system for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and HomePod from its first release. In the latest version - iOS 16, apps will be able to interact with real-world objects without having to touch them. By stepping into a room, users can start playing music, or by getting on an e-bike, users can start exercising. iOS users can perform these hands-free activities even if they are not actively using the app. Sounds cool, right? Apple informed the developers at the company's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) about these meticulous changes. In that case, the upgrade might lead to some fascinating use cases where the iPhone becomes a method to interact with items in the real world. During the event, Apple demonstrated how applications can now connect to and share data with Bluetooth LE devices even while they are running in the background. With iOS 16, however, apps will be able to start a Nearby Interaction session in the background with a Bluetooth LE device that supports Ultra Wideband.

Apple's way of life is getting better:

To enable these new background sessions, Apple changed the norm for accessory makers. The move opens the door to a future where the line between apps and the real world blurs, but whether third-party app makers and device makers take advantage of it remains to be seen. iOS 16 adds additional customization capabilities, deeper intelligence, and more frictionless ways to connect and share to the iPhone. Apple has finally provided the lock screen customization options that everyone has been asking for in iOS 16. Yes, the font, colour, and placement of items on the lock screen may now be changed. During the developer session, Apple detailed a larger improvement to Nearby Interaction, which includes the additional feature. As revealed at WWDC 2020, third-party app developers may use this framework to access the U1 processor on iPhone 11 and later, Apple Watches, and third-party accessories. Third-party developers will be able to create apps that achieve many of the same activities with iOS 16 thanks to a new feature that integrates ARKit - Apple's augmented reality foundation - with Nearby Interaction. Based on the app's functionality, developers may use the device's trajectory, as computed by ARKit, to intelligently route a user to a lost item or another object with which the user may wish to engage. ARKit gives developers more continuous distance and orientation information than Nearby Interaction alone. However, the capability does not have to be confined to AirTag -like peripherals from third parties.

Apple’s way to the future:

A museum walked visitors around its displays using Ultra-Wideband equipment, which Apple also demonstrated. This functionality may also be used to overlay directional arrows or other AR elements on top of the camera's view of the actual world to assist users in finding the Ultra-Wideband object or accessory. Continuing the presentation, Apple showed how red AR bubbles may appear above the camera image on the app's screen to indicate which way to travel. In the long run, these capabilities pave the way for Apple's planned mixed reality smart glasses, which will almost surely contain AR-powered apps. Apple is releasing iOS 16 beta testers with the new feature in advance of its general release next year.
