The IBM and AWS Collaboration
IBM and Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS) have signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement (SCA) to distribute a wide variety of IBM products as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) on AWS. Clients will have quick and simple access to IBM Software thanks to this first-of-its-kind cooperation between IBM and AWS. It includes skills in automation, data, security, artificial intelligence, and sustainability. Organizations today are searching for industry-leading services and solutions that allow them to be agile, adaptable, and scalable. This requirement has grown in importance as the demand for software that can be expanded internationally and with high availability develops on-premises and hybrid cloud settings. IBM Software portfolios will be able to be operated as cloud-native services on Amazon Web Services in the future, enabling organizations to quickly get up and running. IBM API Connect, IBM Db2, IBM Observability by Instana APM, IBM Maximo Application Suite, IBM Security ReaQta, IBM Security Trusteer, IBM Security Verify, and IBM Watson Orchestrate products are available now, with more to come later this year.
The two corporations have also agreed to make several cooperative investments. It enables clients to leverage IBM Software on AWS in various ways, including integrated sales and marketing, developer enablement, channel incentives and training, and solution creation for major verticals and sectors such as Oil and Gas, Travel and Transportation, and others. IBM is ready and eager to satisfy their clients' needs with a versatile and cloud-native software portfolio, whether they're in the cloud or in data centres, as hybrid cloud continues to become a reality for them. By strengthening their partnership with Amazon, they are taking another important step in enabling businesses to select the hybrid cloud model that best suits their needs and workloads, allowing them to focus on solving their most critical business problems.
AWS will let their users access IBM offerings for better management
AWS Marketplace will enable clients to purchase IBM SaaS products and then set up and integrate their products with AWS services with just a few clicks. Consequently, clients will be able to start using IBM SaaS products without setting up, updating, or maintaining infrastructure. IBM SaaS solutions on AWS will provide a native AWS experience, with out-of-the-box deep integration of AWS services and support for API, CloudFormation, and Terraform templates to enable end-to-end workflow automation. This collaboration underlines the importance of IBM, Red Hat, and AWS in delivering flexibility and generating more economic value for clients across sectors. A manufacturer, for example, can use IBM Maximo Application Suite-as-a-Service to take a flexible, demand-based approach to AI-driven asset management to help them monitor and maintain equipment more efficiently or predict potential mechanical failures so they can be fixed before they cause downtime. As a result, they can free up cash for invention, development, tooling, and production by utilizing a scalable consumption model for these applications, and they can simply extend their usage over time as market trends and manufacturing demands change. IBM Consulting and IBM Security Services can also assist customers in developing and deploying contemporary, secure, and intelligent processes with IBM Software on AWS, thanks to their over 10,000 AWS certifications and 13 AWS competencies.
