Customers have exclusive early access to orders and more with Instacart's new rewards program

The top grocery technology business in North America, Instacart, unveiled Cart Star, a brand-new rewards program that invites users to be rewarded for their efforts on the platform.

Three levels of rewards will be available through the Cart Star program: Gold, Platinum, or Diamond Cart. Every eligible customer in the Cart Star program will receive personalized benefits and deals from partners directly on the Instacart website.

Customers will accrue points for Cart Star based on the volume of orders they complete, receiving 10 points for each order they shop for or deliver. Within the same three-month qualifying period, buyers of the Gold Cart, Platinum Cart, and Diamond Cart will have accumulated 200, 1,000, and 2,000 points, respectively. Customers must also maintain a 4.7 overall customer rating for entry to the program.

Instacart is working with other incentive providers, such as Care.com, to support customers on the platform by providing Backup Care when it's necessary for their loved ones. Customers who purchase a Diamond Cart will have access to Backup Care for two days once every three months for a fee of $10 per day or $1 per hour. Customers can use Care.com for Backup Care if they have an unanticipated caring need for a youngster, senior, or pet.

Through collaborations with Upside and CarAdvise, shoppers at all levels of the Cart Star program will have access to cash back on petrol and maintenance discounts. At thousands of gas stations across the country participating in Upside, Gold Cart customers can receive up to 29 cents per gallon cash back. In comparison, Platinum and Diamond Cart customers can receive up to 33 cents per gallon cash back. Customers who purchase an oil change through Instacart's collaboration with CarAdvise receive an additional 25% off, and customers who buy an oil change through Platinum and Diamond Carts receive another 50% off, on top of previously reduced costs.

To enable customers participating in the Cart Star program at different levels to expand their access to profits and batches on the platform, Instacart is now giving improved in-app capabilities. Customers will be notified when their shoppers have attained Platinum or Diamond Cart status on the Instacart app, along with valuable details like the number of orders the shopper has placed and how long they have been using the service. Customers who saw a top shopper badge on their shopper's profile during testing were more inclined to rate and tip their shopper higher.

Diamond Cart customers will also have priority access to batches if they are nearby a store, as shown by a highlighted region in the Shopper app. Additionally, they will have unique access to collections and be able to accept batches before stores even open.
