The top telecommunications and technology business in Australia, Telstra, and McAfee Corp., a global leader in online security, has announced a multi-year agreement to provide users with comprehensive protection for their privacy and identity across activities, devices, and locations. The collaboration will simplify for new and current Telstra customers to access McAfee's top security solutions. These solutions, which include antivirus, parental controls, identity protection, secure virtual private networks, and more, deliver comprehensive security and privacy protection for various devices, including mobile phones, laptops, and desktop computers.
"A recent McAfee study found 27% of Australians surveyed reported attempted account theft and 23% had experienced financial account information leaks," said Pedro Gutierrez, Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Operations at McAfee. "As the proliferation of life online accelerates, we are thrilled to partner with Telstra, who are showing through this collaboration a commitment to innovation and their customers by investing in new infrastructure and technologies that safeguard their mobile and broadband subscribers."
McAfee's comprehensive consumer security platform provides various mobile security options to safeguard users' identities and privacy while thwarting malware, spyware, viruses, and ransomware attacks. Through this agreement, Telstra's customers may use these features and safeguard themselves against new dangers, including identity theft, hacking attempts, and other security flaws, enabling them to use the internet confidently.
"In today's increasingly connected world, the risk of cyber threats continues to grow. To counter the risk, Telstra is committed to providing our customers with the safety and security features needed to protect them online," said Matthew O'Brien, Cyber Security Executive and Group Owner at Telstra. "This partnership with McAfee helps drive our mission to build a safe and secure connected future where everyone can thrive and further complements Telstra's T25 ambition to extend our network leadership position by delivering greater value to our customers."
Customers of Telstra can easily enable Device Security by visiting a store, going online, or using the MyTelstra app. Antivirus/System Scan, Safe Browsing, Protection Center, Identity Protection, Password Manager, Parental Controls, Protection Score, and Secure VPN are all supported in addition to the full McAfee functions. Device Security is free for three months to all eligible Telstra customers, after which it automatically renews for $10 per month.
